The data characterizing the specific features of immune response in relapsing and atypical course of herpetic infection, including changes in the characteristics of cell-mediated and humoral immunity, interferon and cytokine status (α- and γ-interferon, tumor necrosis factor α, interleukin-4), are presented. The variants of the pathogenesis of immunological disturbances in relapsing and atypical herpesvirus disturbances are proposed.
