Research Institute for Plague Control, Stavropol, Russia

The results of the serological study of 1,568 blood serum samples obtained from domestic animals, wild mammals and birds for the presence of antibodies to Crimean hemorrhagic fever (CHF) virus, as well as 218 suspensions prepared from the organs of wild mammals and birds for the presence of CHF virus antigen, are presented. IgG antibodies were detected in 34 blood sera obtained from cattle and in 13 blood sera obtained from small mammals, which was indicative of the possibility of the circulation of CHF virus in the blood of these animals.
