The epidemiological study of the cases of Crimean hemorrhagic fever (CHF) among humans during the autumn period of 2004 in the Republic of Ingushetia was studied. As shown in this study, the source of infection in the first patient (a female) were virus-carrying ticks Boophilus a

ulatus and Haemophisalis otophila. The later CHF cases among the members her family were due to the transmission of the infection through contacts in the process of nursing the patients and washing the bodies of the deceased in preparation for their funeral. A case of nosocomial infection became possible due to faulty observance of the antiepidemic requirements in medical institutions and the absence of alertness among the medical perso

el to the appearance of CHF patients at the autumn period of the year. The opinion was advanced that in the natural foci of CHF, situated in the Southern Federal District, it was also necessary to study ticks other than Hyalomma marginatum.
