The possible causes of the deterioration of the epidemio-logical situation in natural focal infections in the south of the Russian Federation are considered. The real level of the spread of Crimean hemorrhagic fever (CHF) virus infection among the population has been noted to exceed the officially registered data due to imperfect methods of the regular laboratory monitoring of tick-borne infectious diseases among humans. The main principles and trends in the work on the prophylaxis of CHF have been proposed.
