As found in experiments on inbred mice, the immunomodulator (purified staphylococcal toxoid) was capable of correcting the defect of cell-mediated immune response in transitory immunodeficienies (TID) of different origins: Coxsackie virus infection and the vaccinal process after the injection of pertussis corpuscular vaccine. The intensity of immune response was evaluated in the reaction of delayed hypersensitivity to heterogeneous antigen (sheep red blood cells). The experiments showed that the trial of the potential immunocorrecting agent on the animals with TID made it possible to obtain more complete information on the preparation than the evaluation of its immunomodulating activity on intact animals.
