The results of the analysis made with a view to find out the tendencies of the social consequences of the high-flood in 2001 are presented. The analysis was carried out on the basis of material published in the newspaper “Yakutia”. The method of the analysis was chosen, the units of the analysis were determined, the objectivity and completeness of presentation were evaluated. 245 publications were analyzed, the conclusion was made on the inertia of social consequences and social stress, as well as on the tactics and strategy of the newspaper “Yakutia” whose staff, while publishing materials on the processes co
ected with the high-flood, did not give opinions on their evaluation. In addition, the one-sided treatment of the theme of migration was noted.
