Materials on the results of the activity of the sanitary and hygienic laboratory of the Lensk State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance Center at the period of the liquidation of the consequences of high-flood in 2001 are presented. Despite considerable damage suffered by the technico-material base of the laboratory, in a short time this laboratory could start carrying out the main volume of its work. 302 specimens of water were analyzed, including analyses made immediately at the site they were taken. Out of 184 specimens analyzed for residual chlorine, 21.2% proved to be non-standard; out of 822 analyzed specimens of food-stuffs, 10.7% proved to be non-standard. Daily dosimetric measurements and investigations on labor hygiene were also made.
