State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance Center in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)
To liquidate the consequences of inundation, builders and other categories of workers, including those from CIS countries (Belarus, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan) and some regions of Russia, were invited to the zones of inundation. The highest number of the invited workforce was registerd in the Lensk ulus, where 8,000 builders were employed for restoration works in Lensk only. In this situation the primary tasks of the sanitary service of the republic were as follows: the working out and realization organizational measures with a view to prevent bringing quarantine infections to the territory of the republic, the control on the accommodation of the invited workforce and taking prophylactic measures aimed at the prevention of the appearance of mass infections.
